Biography

Eesa Khoury, born in Kafr Yasif in the Western Galilee, began Oriental violin studies at the age of five. He later continued classical violin lessons at the Rubin Conservatory in Haifa with Yevgeni Apter and subsequently with The Violinist Chaim Taub. He studied at the Polyphony Education in Nazareth, where he developed his experience in chamber music and orchestral performance.

He completed his Bachelor of Music degree at the Barenboim-Said Akademie in Berlin, where he studied with Prof. Mihaela Martin. Eesa is a member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra and has performed at major international venues and festivals, including Carnegie Hall, Pierre Boulez Saal, Koerner Hall (Toronto), the Salzburg Festival, Lucerne Festival, and the Cologne Philharmonie. He also performs with the Amman Chamber Orchestra, the Galilee Chamber Orchestra, among many others, and collaborates on independent musical and interdisciplinary projects that combine classical performance with visual and narrative elements..

Eesa has collaborated with artists and ensembles such as Kirill Gerstein, H. K. Gruber, Belcea Quartet, and Kronos Quartet, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Vadim GluzmanItzhak Rashkovsky, Michael Barenboim, and many others,  and participated in masterclasses with Daniel Barenboim, Belcea Quartet, Robin Wilson, Miriam Fried,  Guy Braunstein, Tomer Lev, and Hagai Shaham. During his formative years, Khoury attended the Keshet Eilon Music Center, where he refined his technical and musical skills under the mentorship of international violinists. Also, He is a three-time recipient of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation (AICF) scholarship.

His artistic work reflects a commitment to musical dialogue and collaboration, exploring connections between heritage and contemporary expression. Eesa performs on a Paul Belin violin (2022), modeled after Guarneri “del Gesù’s” Ole Bull.
